the beginning

In 2009, when I was still a teenager, I had a crash course on how to use Photoshop during my school holidays. From that day I knew I wanted to learn more about that world and become a graphic designer. So in 2016, I started my BA in Advertising and Visual communication at the University of Mauritius / MGI school of fine arts where I learned so many things, not only from uni, but also from my internships and own experiences.

the side hustle

I graduated at the end of 2020 and started a full time job as content creator and graphic designer in a start up which was a really amazing experience career wise. I
worked in the agency for a year and in May 2021 some friends and I wanted to make extra money. Since we all had the advertising, marketing and design skills in common, so we came up with Reklam. It all started off with brand identities and social media planning for small businesses, and then everyone in the group had to drop the project down for various reasons.

struggling

End of 2021, I was asked to rebrand a friend’s company which later came to be my employer in early 2022 with a better salary and a complete new world where I acquired further skills. Unfortunately, I had to quit in April 2022. I encountered some health issues, and applied for many jobs and went to many interviews but my health was a real hindrance to my career. While struggling, I also met new people, from LinkedIn and with whom I’m still working with on a freelance basis.

going full time

I decided to work for my own and level up Reklam, while saving money to be able to do a Master degree.
